Well the 4th no hitter has been thrown in baseball, and it might have been done by an unlikely character. Hishashi Iwakuma, (Seattle Mariners) is the one who has thrown the 5th no hitter in baseball this season, and the second throw by a Mariner in 3 years. The 34 year old right hander was a free agent pick up by the Mariners back in 2012. He has a good size to hime as he stands 6'3 and weights 210 pounds. In this game he was excellent, he had seven strikeouts, 3 walks all on just 116 pitches thrown. Post game interview Iwakuma was very humble and said he was just trying to get first pitch strikes. They asked him if he felt fought he could do it while the game and, he said once he gt to the 9th inning he thought he could pull it off. Not to mention he got by third baseball corey seater who made am immersive play in foul teritory .
Every since he has joined the club he has been a solid number two pitcher to King Felix. Since he has been with the club he has a solid career ERA of 3.22 and a career high 15 wins. Seattle has a lot more improving to do if they want a shot at the wild card, but this is a good start. Iwakuma has been hurt most of the year and if he can come into for there might be a rally headed for the Seattle Mariners. Of course they are going to need one more person step up in the 3rd spot in that starting rotation.
People say that the no hitter is starting to become a thing of the past, meaning it is nothing special. I would like to respond and say your crazy. Anyone who can go out there and pitch a game not giving up on hit is remarkable and don't you dare take that away from them. We see more and more of them every year, because pitching gets better every year. If you want no hitters to not be so important then just simply get a hit. If you can't not, then don't discredit the pitcher for what he has done. EVERYONE needs to remember that this is a pitching sport, they control the tempo, and they can control the game. The only thing hitter can do is guess where the pitch is going and react.
