Nationals make a move, will it be their last?

Billy Bean makes a trade to land Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar. Didn't take him long to make another move, and send Escobar packing. Billy Bean traded Escobar to the Nationals for Tyler Clippard. I think this was a great trade for Oakland, and a slightly confusing trade for the Nationals. Ben Zobrist can play everywhere, but can't play more than on position at a time. I don't know who will play in the middle infield with Zobrist, but there is plenty of time to figure that out. What they did figure out is their bullpen, Clippard will be a great improvement to the Oakland bullpen. Clippard has a career record of 37-25 with a 2.88 ERA, with 548 strike outs in 491 innings pitched. He can easily be a closer, a role I would like to see him in, but Doolittle is holding that spot for now.

The Nationals making this trade could very well mean that Desmond will be on the move. The Nationals have been vocal that they are willing to trade Desmond for the right price, and the team with the most assets is the Mets. The problem is Desmond is on the last year of his contract, and is due for a big contract. The Mets don't want to lose their pitching prospects for the possibility Desmond won't return to the team. I would have to say the Mets should go for it for the fact they have been irrelivant for awhile, and this would be the time to make a move while two teams in their division are rebuilding. I would have to say that the Mets will more than likely not make the trade, and that leaves the Nationals with the Escobar at second, a position he hasn't played in the major leagues. Lets see how things play out.
