A Few Small Moves Around the League

Over the last couple of days there were two significant moves that I saw being made. The First was Chris Perez returning to the National League Central Division after the Brewers signed him. The Brewers needed a closer after they chose not to resign K-Rod this off season. Perez didn't have a lot of success in the National League Central for the Cardinals, but did put together a solid run in Cleveland for the Indians. He has been sitting in the Dodgers bullpen since. It looks like he will have a shot to get the closer spot, but i wouldn't count on it. Perez might know this division, but this division knows him better.

The Nationals have signed former Blue Jays closer Casey Janssen. I didn't like the move trading Tyler Clippard to Oakland, because that was a solid arm in the bullpen. I do who they like to replace him, if he can stay healthy. Janssen has shown glimpses of being a solid closer, but injuries have held him back in the past. He has been pitching in a tough pitching ball park in Toronto, and a transition to the National League shouldn't be much of a problem for him. The only thing you got to hope for is he continues on his trend of solid closing, and staying healthy.
