Spring training officially started today with 5 games taking place. The games I would be tuning into are the Giants versus the A's and the Yankees versus the Phillies. The reason for the Giants game is the fact that Madison Baumgardner is on the mound today. After a world series performance of a life time I want to see if that will continue into this season. The Yankees are always interesting to watch and see if they can keep everyone healthy. The biggest problem the last couple seasons with the Yankees is injuries. They have a stack line-up if they can all stay on the field. The question mark is their pitching with three pitchers returning from injury, and Kuroda retiring. All three of the guys that were injured in that pitching rotation last season, Tanaka, Sabathia, and Pineda, have to stay healthy if they want to return to the post season.
Some key notes today: The Miami Marlins decided not to start GianCarlo Stanton in one of their simulated games today. They are expecting him to play in their spring training home opener against the Cardinals. Aaron Harang was scratched from his start on Wednesday due to some discomfort in his back. Harang woke up one morning and thought something just didn't feel right I wouldn't be to concerned as Braves fans, because this is something, more than likely, to due with his age at 36 years old. Lastly, Jung Ho Kang the Korean short stop is making his first start for the Pirates today. He was an explosive hitter in Korea, and if any of that transfers to the big leagues it would be hard to not find a place for him on the roster.
