Yankee's are not out of it, but the Cubs are dead in the water.

Yankee's vs. Astros

Do not count the New York Yankee's out of this series. The Yankee's exploded last night scoring 8 runs in a 8-1 victory against the Astros. The Yankee's rallied a comeback versus the AL favorite Cleveland Indians last series and I believe it could be a repeat performance this series versus the Astros. The biggest reason why I am a believer in the Yankee's comeback is they are dominate at home this year. The Yankee's had the most wins at home in the AL with 51 this year. In their last 20 home games they are 17-3. The Yankee's dominate in their home ball park and a win tonight guarantees they will come back home.

Tonight the Yankee's go against a struggling Lance McCullers for the Astros. McCullers was dominate in the first half of the season, which lead him to be an All Star. Since then McCullers hasn't been the same pitcher. In his last appearance versus the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS he gave up 2 runs in relief. McCullers has only started one game in the playoffs and that was back in 2015. I am not sure why the Astros are going with McCullers over Brad Peacock, but I assume he will be on a short leash. The Yankee's are starting Sonny Gray in game 3 tonight. Sonny Gray is coming off a rough start versus the Cleveland Indians where he gave up 3 runs in less than 4 innings pitched. The star powered offense for the Huston Astros has yet to show up in this series. I don't think there is any advantage in starting pitching tonight, but because of the Yankee's home success this year I am picking the Yankees to even up the series at 2-2 tonight.

Dodger vs. Cubs

WOW! The Los Angeles Dodgers still haven't lost this postseason. Well this is no surprise to me since they were my preseason pick to win it all this year. What is surprising is the lack of offensive production by the Chicago Cubs. Kris Bryant has lost his pitch recognition and vision at the plate this postseason. If your MVP bat isn't producing I don't know how the Cubs win this series.

Yu Darvish is coming off a great start against the D-Backs where he pitched 5 strong innings but the major key is he didn't walk a single batter. The cubs are throwing the one pitcher who gives them the best chance to win tonight. Kyle Hendricks dominated the Dodgers last postseason in two starts, but this was coming off the best season of his career. Hendricks is also coming off 7 strong shut out innings in his last start. The Dodgers don't have as much pop in the line-up right now with Corey Seager missing this entire series due to back problems. The Cubs came back from down 0-2 twice last postseason, but you can tell that was an entirely different team than the Cubs this postseason. I think the Dodgers will put the Cubs are the ropes with a victory tonight.
