The Giants have resigned 37 year old Ryan Volgelsong to a one year contract. When Volgelsong joined the Giants in 2011 he revived his career. 2011 happen to be his best season in the big leagues when he made the All-Star game, finished with a 13-7 record in 28 starts with a 2.71 era. In 2012 he has a good follow up season. 2013 he struggled with an injury, and last season he finished okay. Unless Volgelsong can get his era down, this might be the last year in the big leagues for him.
The Giants have surprised some people by having a very quiet off-season after winning the world series. This doesn't surprise me, because this is who the Giants are, and always been. They will see what they got on there team after multiple people come back off of injury. I expect them to spend some of that money next off-season on some of the big name pitchers that will be free agents, such as, David Price, and Jordan Zimmerman.
